Today, we brought the energy at our Spring Pep Rally, celebrating an incredible lineup of academic and athletic achievements...from our Regional Spelling Bee Champs to Mr. Hockey Vermont, the Robotics Team, State Champ Dance & Volleyball Teams, the Vermont Poetry Out Loud Runner-Up, and more!
The Student Council also honored their Staff Person of the Year: Ms. Weaver...congrats and thank you for all you do!
We wrapped it all up with the most iconic game of musical chairs ever witnessed in our gymnasium, followed by a wild obstacle race and an epic tug-of-war that shook the walls.
Have a great long weekend! #GoWolves #SBProud

This morning, the SBHS chapter of Future Educators of America (FEA) proudly inducted its newest members!
FEA has been inspiring future teachers at South Burlington High School since 2003. Last night, we welcomed the Class of 2029 to 8th Grade Step-Up Night!
Our newest members of the Wolf Pack, and their families, heard from Peer Leaders and school administrators about life and academics at South Burlington High School.

Back in November, four student leaders from the Green Team attended the Youth Climate Leadership Academy, where they launched a project inspired by the SBSD Climate Action Plan: Promote urban forests that support native pollinators
Over the winter, the team rallied support, wrote a grant (and won!), and partnered with local experts to bring the project to life. After thoughtful planning and collaboration with the South Burlington Urban Forester, UVM Extension, Gardeners' Supply in Williston, and Landshapes Landscaping, the Green Team identified SBHS and Central School as top priorities for more native trees.
Thanks to these amazing partners, and support from Bart Miceli and our buildings & grounds crew, seven new flowering trees were planted this morning on the SBHS campus!
These trees will:
✅ Provide beauty and shade for students and staff
✅ Support pollinators near our tennis and basketball courts
✅ Help sequester carbon and lower our school's footprint
Big thanks to everyone who helped make this happen!

Last Friday, our 9th grade advisories teamed up with their Peer Leaders to roll up their sleeves and give back across Vermont for SLAM Community Service Day 2025!

🌱 VYCC Farm, Common Roots Farm, Camp Abenaki, Ethan Allen Homestead, and Shelburne Farms
💛 Hope Lodge in Burlington
Thank you to our community partners for welcoming us!
We wrapped up the day back on campus with our annual SLAM Olympics on the Turf, an epic mix of friendly competition, school spirit, and celebration of a job well done.

Wolves update from the wrestling mat: AP Zuchman & Sam Hoffer dominated their weight classes, becoming state champions, while Max Gurtman (4th) and Fred Pouteaux (6th) also had strong performances. Zuchman & Hoffer went on to compete at the Junior High New England Tournament on March 16th.
Our JV Wolves showed up strong, with everyone winning a match! Henry Dodge took 1st in the 150lb class, while Jeremiah VanAlystyne, Jamal Yusupov, and Jaymin Lyman-Cobbs all made the podium. The team finished 9th out of 25 teams—a huge achievement.
At the varsity level, Charu Magar placed 2nd in the Girls New England Qualifier, and Sophomore Sam Zuchman took 3rd in a highly competitive 106lb class, earning a spot at the High School New England Tournament.
