Dear South Burlington Community,
I have now been working as Superintendent of the South Burlington School District for just over a year. During my first few months, I met dozens of groups and hundreds of people across the community. In those conversations, I asked three questions:
What do you like about our schools?
What can we do better?
What do you expect of the Superintendent?
I learned a great deal from those conversations, and I would now like to check back in.
I know we send lots of surveys, and I am going to beg for your forgiveness as I ask you to complete one more. This short survey is intended to gather feedback from the community perspective. It is not a staff survey, and it is not intended to measure the district’s treatment of staff members. Staff members who live in South Burlington or otherwise participate in the community are welcome to complete the survey and should answer from their perspective as community members.
The purpose of this survey is to understand how the community currently feels about the district and whether perceptions have changed compared to last year, before I began as Superintendent. This feedback will also help establish baseline information for future monitoring reports so the School Board and District can track whether community engagement, communication, participation, and access are improving over time.
Because this feedback will inform an upcoming monitoring report to the School Board, I am asking for responses by Monday, October 12. I know this is a quick turnaround, and I appreciate anyone who can take a few minutes to respond.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. Go Wolves!
Joe Clark, Ph.D.
Superintendent
South Burlington School District
