South Burlington School District Showcases Project SEARCH at University of Vermont Medical Center
The South Burlington School District is proud to highlight the success of Project SEARCH, a unique partnership that empowers students with disabilities to gain career skills and independence.
Hosted by the University of Vermont Medical Center, Project SEARCH is a one-year, work-based program supported by South Burlington Schools, the Howard Center, HireAbility, the Vermont Agency of Education, and the Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging, and Independent Living.
Through real-world job placements, students like Jacob, Gabe, and Henry are thriving—whether stocking critical hospital supplies, assisting patients at UVM Medical Center’s entrance, or contributing to local businesses through design and production work.
Their stories affirm our belief: this is what strong special education programming and community partnerships make possible.
