We’re approaching one of the busiest times of the year! Every school is marking the end of the year with field days, fun runs, concerts, step-up ceremonies, and more! It’s a joy to see all the hard work of the last nine months culminate in these celebrations. Mark your calendars for these big events and make sure you are checking your school newsletters and calendars for more information!

We continue to engage with individuals across the South Burlington community as we complete this important work to design a new way of budgeting. Over the last week, the full SBSD Administrative Team, including all five principals, received an update on the redesign process from Tassant Partners, the consulting firm supporting this project, and we held a focus group with a small group of SBHS students. Students shared their positive experiences at SBHS and concerns about the impact of budget reductions on programs and staff. They also provided suggestions on how to motivate our broader community to support the district’s budget by emphasizing the long-term benefits of investing in education and highlighting valued teachers and staff.
The Budget Advisory Group will take all of this feedback into consideration when recommending an annual community engagement calendar and model for developing school budgets in future years. |

SBHS Senior Esabella Amoah is a 2025 National Merit Scholarship Finalist! She is one of 2,500 finalists who received a $2,500 scholarship. Her academic achievements and hard work are evident, and she will be heading to Yale University in the fall. Congratulations Esabella! |

Alexis Seraus, Head Custodian at FHTMS, recently repainted the FHTMS gym in preparation for upcoming work taking place this summer. It hadn’t been done in nearly 50 years! The gym looks amazing! We are so grateful to have Alexis as an integral member of our facilities and middle school teams. Thanks to Alexis for the huge head start on our gym renovation project and for everything he does for the middle school every day! |
