Pre-School Program:

The South Burlington School District believes that all students benefit from learning within a diverse group of learners in balanced classrooms. Our diverse classrooms include typically developing students, students with developmental delays, students learning English and from various backgrounds. The uniqueness of each child's abilities, feelings, needs and wants are respected and celebrated. The Preschool is a warm and nurturing environment with low student/teacher ratio. Additionally, children have opportunities for purposeful play coupled with teacher-directed activities. The classrooms are language-rich to promote social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Each of our classrooms are co-taught by an early childhood special educator and a speech-language pathologist. The curriculum is guided by the Vermont Early Learning Standards. The classrooms are located within the kindergarten wing of their buildings allowing a seamless transition to kindergarten.
