    Mathcounts will meet today after school.

    Peer Leadership will meet tomorrow at 3:30 in room 201. All are welcome! 

    The Bolton Ski and Ride trip for today has been cancelled.  Our 1st trip will be January 3rd.  Anyone who did not come to the information meeting last week must see Mrs. Gauding in Room 260.

    Congratulations to the following students for their 100 word scary stories winning in the Young Writers' Spine Chillers Contest.  Their work will be published in Spine Chillers - Spooky Sagas coming out in February 2018, Kylie Gaudette, Makayla White, Gianna Morin, Olivia Suave, Dane Simerley, Marc-Andre Berthin, Alanna Nguyen-Kenney, Hanlan Paquin, Sofia Richland, Vivienne Fogarty, Sangmin Lee, George Teroni, Liana Wijetunga, Maddie Martin, Catie Lyford-Byrne, and Garett Ward.

    There will NOT BE A STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING TODAY. Student Council will meet on Friday from 3:30-4:30. Please see Ms. Ainsley with any questions.

If you have read or are finishing reading the book, please come. Sign-ups will be happening during ELA class. Anyone who goes will receive an academic perk and there will also be food.

    The Fusion! Team will once again be collecting toys for the Vermont Children’s hospital.  Please bring in a new, unwrapped toy for donation.  You may drop off the toys in room 235. 

    We will have a Caught Being Good drawing this Friday morning.  The winner will receive a movie pass to Majestic 10.

    Congratulations to the Girls A & B team for their great effort yesterday against Essex yesterday.  The A team won 40-18 and the B team won 59-6

    Boys baskeball teams both won their games yesterday vs Essex middle school.

    Are you interested in dance? Would you like to be part of the middle school dance team this winter? Come to the informational meeting tomorrow right after school in room 168 to learn more. The meeting will last about 20 minutes. No experience is necessary!

    The South Burlington Recreation Dept. is still taking registrations for 7th and 8th grade boys basketball.

    Congratulations to the Tuttle 7-8 Grade Spelling Team for coming in First Runner Up in the State Championship this year.

    Congratulations to Sierra Fisher for qualifying for the Junior Olympic Nationals Cross Country Championships.  Sierra heads to Florida to compete on  December 9th.

    Calling all 6th & 7th graders: Are you interested in creating solutions to real-world problems? Do you like to do hands-on projects in engineering and design? Would you like to learn how to write code? If so, then come to the informational meeting for the new FHTMS FIRST Lego League Robotics Team on Monday iTime in Sra. Ensalata's room, # 257. There are 8 spots available on the team to build Lego robots and program them to solve complicated problems.

    Students of all experience levels are welcome!

    The Scholastic Book Fair will run from Nov. 6 to Nov. 10 in the library.

    Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams for a strong finish at yesterday’s meet in Essex.  It was a perfect day for racing.  Out of seven competing teams, the girls placed first and the boys took second.  Please remember that the team will not be practicing today.

    The A Field hockey team beat ADL 6-1 yesterday.

    Congratulations to the cross country team for a strong finish at yesterday’s Westford Invitational.  On the girls side, FHT finished in first place lead by a strong finish by Sierra Fisher.  She came in first out of the entire field of over 100 female finishers!  Our boys team came in 4th place out of the 10 competing schools.  Rowan Killeen was our fastest male finisher and he had an admirable 8th place out of 100+ runners.

    Drama: Today’s rehearsal is cancelled.

    Both the Grade 6 and the 7/8 spelling team will meet after school today from 3:35-4:20.  Please make every effort to attend this practice.

    Art club members will meet in the art room afterschool on Thursday, Oc.t 5 in room 275. Art club is by invitation only. Please see Mrs. Coleman in room 275 during  I-time if you are interested in becoming a member to discuss the process.

    Our names are Frankie Karnedy and Emily Davis, and we are students at South Burlington High School as well as coaches for the FHTMS Dance Team. The Dance Team is looking for a new teacher adviser. We practice once a week on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:45 pm during the Winter Sports season. This is a great group of motivated students, and we would really appreciate if someone would be willing to volunteer.     Announcements 9/15/17

    The 6th grade boys soccer team does not have practice today.

    The boys A and B boys soccer practice is cancelled for today. Boys need to pick up their grade verification sheets today from Mr. Button, and bring their uniforms to school on Monday for our away game at Colchester.

    Cross country practice is canceled today.  The boys and girls teams both had a fantastic meet yesterday.  The boys placed second in the team competition.  On the girls side, the team took the first place trophy in the team competition and we took five of the top 10 finishing spots out of 116 runners.  Strong work by both teams, and don’t forget, practice is canceled today.

    Congratulations to Cindy Yang and Sriram Sethuraman for competing in the recently completed Mathcounts National Championships.  Cindy was the captain and was one of the highest scoring females, while Sriram finished highly among the seventh graders.

     Congratulations to the Mathcounts' team of Cindy Yang, Sriram Sethuraman, Sangmin Lee and Kenny Chamberlain for winning the State championship, to Cindy and Sriram for finishing first and second as individuals and to Sangmin for winning the countdown round.

    There will be a final gathering of Mathcounts participants on Tuesday after school.  Members are encouraged to bring snacks.

    Congratulations to Carley Roberts and Taylor Payne! Their drawings were selected in the Glasstastic competition through the Brattleboro Art Museum. Each of their drawings will be turned into sculptures by glass artists. The exhibition is from March 18-June 18 and any artist who submitted work will have their drawings on display! Only 20 drawings were selected from 1,000.

    The Candy Land Social was a huge success.  Thank you to everyone who came, and a special thank you to the Why Not? students who helped to plan the social and take care of the decorations, games, raffle and food.  The results of the 3-point basketball competition are: 3rdplace – Anthony McGahy of Verve; 2nd place – Tommy O’Leary of Dorset House; and the winner was Koa Yee of Polaris.  Mr Yoon was the closest guess in the Jelly bean game, but gave up his prize to the second closest guess, which was Davis Cota.

    Auditions for the Spring musical, Annie, will be held this week. All audition information is listed on the Annie NEO page. Signup sheets for the Singing Auditions are on the Annie Board outside the Chorus Room.
