Master Planning & Visioning: Community Meeting Jan. 2020

-
As town meeting day 2020 approaches, so too, does additional outreach to make sure residents have the information they need about budgets and ballot items prior to March 3. In an effort to keep community members in the loop about the Master Planning and Visioning proposal for a new middle school, high school, and physical education and athletic center, a community meeting was held Jan. 30 from 7-9 pm in Cafeteria II at SBHS.
About 50 individuals dropped in to hear a presentation on the project by board member Bridget Burkhardt. Following this, individuals were able to explore information booths staffed by those who have been deeply involved in the process from the start. Lee Dore and Rob Fitzgerald from Dore and Whittier Architects were on hand to address questions about the proposed design and projected phasing. High School Principal Patrick Burke and Middle School Principal Karsten Schlenter discussed evolving needs around education, and school board members, along with Superintendent David Young fielded questions on the process and cost.
If you missed this session, you can watch the RETN video of the event here and please join us for our next community meeting at the same time and location Feb. 12. Free childcare available! Bring your questions and talk one on one about the issues most important to you!
Just added: Saturday information session Feb. 15 from 10-noon in SBHS Cafeteria 2. Light refreshments provided.
