    2019 Older Kid TREK Descriptions

    Interest driven, week long day camps that feature many full-day field trips heavily focused on a central topic, theme, or interest. Children will receive some free time and off-topic recreation but the primary theme of the camp will be consistent throughout the week.  Please register your child for TREKS that your child is truly interested in or passionate about. TREKS run from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm but late pick up (until 6:00 pm) is included at no extra charge.

     

    6/19/19 – 6/21/2019 Reach the Peak, Hiking Week (Currently in grades 2 and up) $175/$165 sib

    Head for the hills!!  Trekkers will tackle a new peak every day including Snake Mt and Stowe Pinnacle.  We'll hike and swim at Waterbury Reservoir on our final day of camp.

     

    6/24/19 – 6/28/19 Lights, Camera, ACTION - Performance and Theater Camp (Currently in grades 2 and up) 

    Dance, theater, comedy?  Campers will work on their own routines throughout the week and perform for families on the final day.  We'll go behind the scenes at the Flynn, Farm to Ballet and more!  

     

    7/1/19 – 7/3/19 (Closed July 4th and 5th) ILOVERMONT (Currently in grades 2 and up)  $175/$165 sib

    All things VERMONT!  This will be the vermontiest TREK of the summer.  We'll learn about Vermont history and evrything that makes this great little state special!  Trips to include Teddy Bear Factory, Ben and Jerry's, Shelburne Museum and swimming!

     

    7/8/19 – 7/12/19 Grow, Cook, EAT! (Currently in grades 2 and up)

    Grow food, harvest food, cook food, and (most importantly) EAT FOOD! Campers will travel to local farms to learn about food production and return with fresh ingredients that will be used to create delicious treats and meals. 

     

    7/15/18 – 7/19/18 I like to Move It - Fitness Camp (Currently in grades 2 and up)

    One of our most active camps, this one is for the kid on the move.  Trips to include a dance class at Honest Yoga, Gymnastics, Petra Cliffs and Ice Skating

     

    7/22/19 – 7/26/19 Animals and Nature (Currently in grades 2 and up)

    One of our most popular TREKS, the Animals and Nature campers will get first hand experience with our furry friends.  Trips to include a hike with llamas. Audubon, ECHO and swimming at Waterbury Reservoir

     

    7/29/19 – 8/2/19 Young Artists Unite (Currently in grades 2 and up) 

    For the creative camper, we have an all art TREK.  We'll do some observation paintings at Red Rocks, visit Shelburne Craft School for clay or collaging, and get some photography in at Shelburne Farms.

     

    8/5/19 – 8/9/19 Water World (Currently in grades 2 and up)

    To celebrate the end of an amazing summer, Trekkers will spend the week swimming and exploring at some of Vermont's best swimming spots.  Destination list includes, Lake Elmore, Waterbury Reservoir, and Sandbar beach.

    Similar to other TREK experiences, but the TRIP TREKS are designed for our oldest kids and feature full day field trips (with little or no at school time). 

     

    6/19/19 – 6/21/19 Ropes and Rocks - (Currently in grades 4 and up) $175/$165 sib

    Hike, climb, and scramble!  Campers will put their climbing skills to the test at Petra Cliffs, Metro Rock, Sugarbush Zipline and more!

     

    6/24/22/19 – 6/28/19 Peak Week  (Currently in grades 4 and up)

    Lace up your hiking shoes and prepare to tackle five classic Vermont peaks .  Philo, Hunger, Snake, Sterling and Stowe Pinnacle.  Nothing says “Summer in Vermont” like a day hike with good friends!

     

    7/1/19 - 7/5/19 NO TRIP TREK THIS WEEK

     

    7/8/19 – 7/12/19 Beach Week - (Currently in grades 4 and up)

    Five days of glorious field trips to some of the most glorious bodies of water in Vermont including Sandbar Beach, Leddy Beach, Iroquois, and Oakledge.  Part relaxation and socialization and part adventure.  Prepare to get wet!!

     

    7/15/19 – 7/19/19 River Week - (Currently in grades 4 and up)

    We'll continue the water theme going as we move from lakes to rivers.  Trips to include Ausable Chasm, river tubing adventure, and Audubon.

     

    7/22/19 – 7/26/19 State Parks  (Currently in grades 4 and up)

    Campers will check out some old favorites as well as some exciting parks that we have yet to experience.  We'll participate in the Venture Challenge as we visit Boulder Beach, Lake Elmore, Little River, Button Bay and Burton Island.

     

    7/29/19 – 8/2/19 Leisure Week  (Currently in grades 4 and up)

    Don't let the name fool you.  This will be an active week of travel and recreation, but we'll be focusing on popular yard games and leisure activities such as badminton, mini golf, baggo, bocce, archery, bowling and racquetball.  

     

    8/5/19 – 8/9/19 Resort Week  (Currently in grades 4 and up)

    Campers will travel to some of the most popular mountain resorts in VT including, Jay Peak Pump House, Smugglers' Notch, UVAC and Stowe.

    Let’s make a joyful noise! Get your rock star, conductor, diva hats on! This is a hands on week of singing, playing and making instruments.

     

    6/24/19 – 6/28/19 Animal Adventures (Currently in grades K and 1)

    Whoo whoo is out there in those hills and woods? Spend a week getting to know more about our animal neighbors. Farms, forests, lakes and homes. We’ll travel to Echo, Shelburne Farms, go on a llama trek visit the Birds of VT museum, plus time to get in the water with our aquatic friends.

     

    7/1/19 – 7/3/19 (Closed July 4th and 5th) Into The Woods (Currently in grades K and 1) $175/$165 sib

    We are headed into the woods to find cozy sites to spend our days hiking, building teepees, fairy houses, forts, nests and enjoying the gifts that nature provides. We’ll help build camper’s skills in First Aid hiking safety and camp craft.  Trips to include Knight Point, Common Ground Center and Mt Philo.  We’ll make the most of this shorter week!

     

    7/8/19 – 7/12/19 Grow, Cook, Eat (Currently in grades K and 1)

    Join in on a week of local food and adventure. Pizza party, garden and restaurant tours, let’s find out how to grow it, cook it and eat it!  Trips to include SB community garden, Shelburne Farms, Charlotte Berry Farm, and a Burlington Food Tour.

     

    7/15/19 – 7/19/19 On the Beach (Currently in grades K and 1)

    What could be better than a week of relaxing and enjoying our beautiful local beaches? Swim and enjoy the views on both sides of Lake Champlain. Bring your swimming gear and sunglasses and we’ll provide the rest! Rainy days? No worries, indoor beach day or a trip to an indoor pool!  Trips to include Charlotte Beach, Knight Point, Waterbury Reservoir, Ferry to NY Beach and Lake Elmore.

     

    7/22/19 – 7/26/19 Explore Vermont! (Currently in grades K and 1)

    Join us to do some Vermont investigating. This week includes 5 full day adventures to some special Vermont sites rich in history and geology. Let’s deepen our knowledge and love for our home in the Green Mountains.  Trips to include the Maritime Museum, Shelburne Museum, Rock of Ages, Smugglers' Notch and Sand Bar Beach.

     

    7/29/19 – 8/2/19 We like to Move it, Move it! (Currently in grades K and 1)

    This is not your traditional sports week, we’ll be hiking, swimming, climbing, sailing all over Northern VT. Join us and stretch all your muscles as we spend the week stretching our limits and MOVING IT!  Trips to include Maple Street Park, Get Air, Oakledge, Alburg Dunes, Jay Peak and Snake Mt.

     

    8/5/19 – 8/9/19 All About Art (Currently in grades K and 1)

    Calling all artists! This week is about making and enjoying art. We’ll be busy expressing our creative selves, inside and outside. Join us to visit some of Vermont’s art museums, and do some swimming and dipping as well.  Trips to include Mahaney Museum, Button Bay, Shelburne Museum, Helen Day Museum, and Charlotte Beach.
