• Employment Process

As an employer, The South Burlington School District places emphasis on service to students.  Our district strives to provide a working environment where diversity and differing opinions are valued, creativity is fostered, life-long learning is encouraged, and open and honest communication is respected.

Recruitment:  Open positions are generally listed on Schoolspring (https://www.schoolspring.com) and ads may be placed in other publications, on social media, and on other employment websites at the discretion of the District.

Applications:  Applications are available on this website or may be obtained in person at the Human Resources Office located at the FHTuttle Middle School, 500 Dorset Street, South Burlington, VT  05403.

Applying for Positions:  The preferred employment application method is through Schoolspring.  Applications also will be accepted at the Human Resources Office.  All applicants must complete an application for employment.  A resume is welcomed but does not replace the District application form.  Applications must be received by the closing date listed.  Late applications may not be considered.

It is the applicant's responsibility to list all relevant information.  Incomplete applications may prevent a candidate from being considered.  The title of the position for which one is applying should be included on the application form.  The most qualified applicants may be invited directly to participate in an interview process which may include demonstration of abilities through testing, classroom teaching, or other examples of skills and abilities.

Additional information or assistance with the application process is available by contacting the Human Resources Department at 802-652-7255.

All qualified applicants receive consideration for employment in accordance with the policy of the South Burlington School District.  It is the policy of the District not to discriminate in educational programs, activities, or employment practices on the basis of age, race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender information, national origin, place of birth, ancestry, genetic information, or handicap under the provisions of TitleVI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Fair Employment Practices, 21 V.S.A.
